April Ross

April Ross is only one of the few beach volleyball athletes to win medals at least twice in an Olympics. Alix-Klineman will compete with April Ross Tokyo to win her third gold in the coming days. Ross is hoping to secure the Olympic first gold medal however, she also hopes to win greater. Perhaps this is her only opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. She is still confident but she is not sure. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they play their best, and even play well and they are able to play well, the team will be able to win the gold medal. Also, I am going be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross was born on August 22, 1982, located in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area along with her entire family. She went on to compete in many sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete, she also played indoor volleyball and track. In her final game she was clearly the standout. In her time at high school, she played middle blocker outside hitter and setter on the volleyball court per her bio at the college. Her achievements were rewarded in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National Players of the Year. In 2000, she won the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Ross Klineman and Ross may have started working together in the year 2017, however Ross was already an established player at the beach before they came together. She has won major competitions with different players. A couple of those has become an iconic player in the world of volleyball. For six years from 2007-2013 she played alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Alongside Kessy Ross was an ace in the world circuit, winning an international title in 2009. This duo went on to win a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the legend team that was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, took them out to win the gold medal. The fate of the matter was that Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. They went on to earn bronze in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross participated in the Trojans of USC in her the college years following her graduation from high school. The Trojans had a great career for Ross in the university. She was a All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of Year in the year 2000, a young freshman. In 2000, her Trojans made it to the Final Four. In her sophomore year, she suffered a tremendous personal loss but still managed to make it back as an All-American. Over her final 2 seasons with the Trojans program, she coached them to a national title each year. As an individual, she established her place as a legend having won the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross was who was a USC international relations student was a volleyball star. Margie Ross wasn't able to witness her daughter's climb to the beach volleyball spotlight. Ross suffered the loss of her mother to breast cancer in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. Ross is still awed by her mother who died. Margie has inspired her throughout her life, as well as on the beaches.
