Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in the style that is his own. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine's title is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began in the church, where she sang as well as performed piano. She studied at Spellman College and began to study the R&B style that is popular in Atlanta. In 2005, she was employed as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her about being the choral leader for the stage production. Sunshine became famous during the four daily performances of The 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing during the 2009 Obama Inauguration.
