John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado who was a specialist in folk music, was a hit with millions of fans. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. There were many who made their way through Colorado following the Denver's cult songs for his home state. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver is the only performer to embody Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever to be a member. Denver is the icon of Colorado to many all over the world. It is commonplace to meet people from other nations, for instance New Zealanders, and they say "I am from Colorado" and they instantly react with Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was among Denver's top 10 solo accomplishment after performing alongside small folk ensembles. It was written by and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song using Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver heard an early version and listened to it, he was convinced that the song could be an instant hit. A few days after performing for a packed crowd within Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
